Ideas for managing this woodland ...

A future owner may choose to develop a woodland management plan for Concord Wood, supporting the continuation of its long-established timber production and provide regular, long-term income.  There is also potential to selectively remove ash trees and replant with alternative broadleaved species, reducing exposure to ash dieback.

Concord Wood, lot 1 of The Lee Woodlands, is an excellent mixed wood enjoying a special location in the Chilterns AONB.  A long history of management is evidenced in the quality of the crops, particularly in the mid rotation beech and oak.  The most recent restocking in the centre of the wood took place in the spring of 2019. The focus was on conifers with a species mix of 60% Douglas fir, 20% red cedar, 10% Lawson cypress and 10% Japanese cedar.  Planting was in tubes and the crop is growing well.
